• Qualification for Psychiatrist/MBBS Doctor: Doctors must necessarily have MBBS qualification and must also have a training certificate in addiction medicine from a recognized institute.
• Qualification for Nurse (ANM): Must have passed 18/24 months MPHA(F) course conducted in the state (recognized by AP Nursing & Midwives Council). OR Have completed two years Intermediate Vocational Multipurpose Health Worker (Women) course and one year clinical training in selected Government Hospital wherein Intermediate (Vocational MPHW(F)) students are permitted to undergo clinical training. OR Have completed one year apprenticeship training in identified hospitals and have been awarded “Apprenticeship Completion Certificate” by the Apprenticeship Training Board of the Government of India. Southern Zone, Chennai. Must be registered with AP Auxiliary Nurse and Midwifery and Health Visitor Council. In respect of candidates who have passed Intermediate Vocational Multipurpose Health Worker (F) course should be registered with AP Para Medical Board. Note: B.Sc (Nursing), GNM and any other qualifications other than those mentioned above are not eligible.
• Qualification for Counsellor: Candidate should have Graduation (Degree) in any discipline with 3 years experience in the field. He must have a certificate of 3 months training course in de-addiction counseling by the National Institute of Social Defense (NISD) and must have knowledge of English as well as a regional language.
• Qualification for Ward Boy: Candidate should have passed 8th class, preferably with experience in such centres, Ward Boys working in IRCA should be trained by National Institute of Social Defense (NISD).
• Experience for Counsellor: 3 years experience in the field.
• Experience for Ward Boy: preferably experienced in such centres.

Salary/Stipend

• Psychiatrist/MBBS Doctor: Rs.60,000/-per month
• Nurse (ANM): Rs 11,000/- per month
• Counselor: Rs 12,500/- per month
• Ward Boy: Rs 11,000/-per month

Age Limit (as on 01-07-2025)

• OC Candidates: 42 years should not be born earlier than 02.07.1983
• SC, ST & BC Candidates: 47 years should not be born before 02.07.1978
• Ex-Servicemen & PH Category: 50 years born not earlier than 02.07.1975
• The minimum age to apply for the post is 18 years as on the date of release of notification

• The process of selection of candidates for the said posts will be done entirely on the basis of merit following the rules of reservation.
• Weightage: a) 90 marks on the basis of merit obtained in the qualifying examination, i.e. PG Degree / PG Diploma / MPHA (F) / MPHW (F) / Degree / 8th Class (Example: If a candidate has secured 68% in the qualifying examination then he will be given 61.2 marks).
• b) 10 marks for seniority from the year of passing the qualifying examination i.e. 1 mark for each completed year after acquiring the requisite qualification. (Example: If the candidate has passed in 2016, he/she will be given 9 marks) (The cut-off date for calculating marks for seniority is the date of notification)

General information/instructions

• The number of posts notified above in this recruitment is subject to increase/decrease based on instructions issued by the AP Government from time to time.
• All rights are reserved with the District Selection Committee, Ananthapuramu to cancel or reschedule the recruitment process at any time without any notice.
• Eligibility: Both male and female candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Psychiatrist/MBBS Doctor and Counselor posts, only female candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Nurse (ANM), only male candidates are eligible to apply for the post of Ward Boy.
• Tenure of Appointment and Important Conditions: The tenure for contract posts is initially one year from the date of joining the post and may be extended for further period as per instructions issued by the Government from time to time. The District Selection Committee reserves all rights to terminate the contractual services of any candidate/s at any time with one month’s notice or as per instructions of the Government from time to time.

• Applications in the prescribed proforma are invited from eligible candidates for recruitment to the post of Psychiatrist/MBBS Doctor, Nurse (ANM), Counsellor, Ward Boy to work on contract basis in the De-addiction Center of the Government. General Hospital, Ananthapuramu.
• Interested candidates can download the application form and eligibility details through the official website of Ananthaparamu District http://ananthaparamu.ap.gov.in.
• Completed applications will be submitted to the office of the Principal, Govt. Medical College, Ananthapuramu on all working days (10:00 AM to 05:00 PM) from 31 December 2025 to 07 January 2026 with all necessary certificates.
• The last date for submission of filled applications is 07 January 2026 till 05:00 PM.
• Completed applications will be submitted to the office in person/by registered post along with self attestation enclosing the following certificates related to their respective posts. Principal, Govt. Medical College, Ananthapuramu on all working days (10:30 AM to 05:00 PM) from 31 December 2025 to 07 January 2026. Applications filled without signature of the candidate or without any of the following certificates will be summarily rejected without any prior notice.
• The applicant has to attach a demand draft for the application processing fee in favor of the Principal, Government Medical College, Ananthapuramu (If the candidate is eligible for more than one post then he/she has to attach the demand draft for each post and apply separately for each post).
